PASSATSTAL specialists, together with PASSATSTAL RUS, have completed work on comprehensive anti-corrosion protection of the inner surface of the scrubber.
The scrubber for wet cleaning of gases from the new blast furnace No. 3 at the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant will provide high-quality gas cleaning from hazardous industrial wastes and increase the environmental responsibility of the enterprise.
The customer of the works was the owner of the metallurgical plant — PJSC Severstal, Cherepovets, Russian Federation.

All work was carried out in strict compliance with the technological sequence specified in the design and estimate documentation:
- Arasive blast cleaning from rust (cleaning degree according to ISO 8501-1 Sa5) with profiling of the base (minimum roughness profile 130 μm) with Sponge-Jet Silver 16 and Silver 30 sponges — total surface preparation area — 721 m2
- Coating according to Type 1 in 3 layers, 2000 μm thick, lining area 156 m2
- Coating Type 2 in 3 layers, thickness 1500 microns, lining area 448 m2
- Coating at the bottom of the scrubber in 2 layers, 320 µm thick, lining area 117 m2.
Having completed these works, PASSATSTAL not only solved the customer’s problem of long-term protection of technological equipment but also had an indirect positive impact on the environment, through the use of «friendly» technology and protection of equipment that directly prevents air pollution.
