PASSATSTAL performed a range of works on anticorrosive protection of the inner surface of the plate thickener Metso LTO500-F8 at 4 Production Unit of JSC Belaruskali.
The complex of work performed:
— dust-free abrasive blasting with Sponge-Jet technology
— primer application Farbacoat Protect Prime
— application of the main coating Farbacoat Protect
— control of dry film thickness with an electric spark test.
The total area of the protected inner surface of the plate thickener is 430 m2.
The dry film thickness varies depending on the element to be protected:
— conical base — not less than 4000 microns
— thickener walls — not less than 2000 microns
— stroke device — not less than 2000 microns
— plate mounting elements — not less than 1000 microns.
The thickener is operated indoors at temperatures from -5 ° C to + 40 ° C in a corrosive environment with vapors saturated with salts of potassium chloride and sodium. The anticorrosive coating of Farbacoat Protect guarantees the protection of equipment designed for the deposition and thickening of the finely dispersed solid phase from potassium chloride suspension.
